Verl T. Woolsey passed away on February 21, 2013. He was born July 31, 1927 to Delbert T. And Sarah Bettridge Woolsey in Cedar City, Utah. He is the last of his 12 brothers and sisters.

Verl married Marian De Lapp 63years ago. During those years they raised four children: Joy, Charles, Eugene and Mark.

Verl worked for US Steel for 30 years. He had been a Lion’s Club member. When younger, he was a good deer hunter and loved it. He made a lot of quilts after he retired. Verl also loved to raise a garden every year and shared the produce with friends, family and anyone he thought might enjoy fresh produce.

Verl was quite dignified, respectful, man of his word. He was self-taught, friendly, independenet, an inspiration, honest, hard-working, and took pride in his work , garden and quilts.He was a Temple Worker.

Verl is survived by his wife, Marian; his children Joy Stover of Cedar City, Charles Woolsey (Camille) of Cedar City, Eugene Woolsey (Suzette) of St. George and Mark Woolsey (Patty) of Tagard, OR; 21 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters Dee L., Irene, Owen, Ross, Lorna, Lazon Woolsey, Jack, Marie Bettridge, Lois, Romona and Carl Woolsey.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS 14th Ward, 1650 West Center, Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church. Interment will be held at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
