Louis Keith Ence, our dearly loved husband, Dad, Grandpa, and friend passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the age of 84 after an 18 month battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Huntsman cancer foundation.

He was the youngest of five children born to Lou and Beth Ence. He had a happy childhood helping his Dad and brothers with the sheep and spending time on Kanarra Mountain.

He graduated from Cedar High and attended two years at BAC. He worked for Thorley Ford until he left for Korea with the 213th National Guard. They received many blessings while there and all returned home safely. He continued to work for Thorley's as a master mechanic and then on to car salesman. He was offered a job at Utah International and worked up to shop foreman. When the mine in Cedar closed he was transferred to New Mexico, where he lived for 13 years. When their son, Kelly, lost his life through an accident, Keith took early retirement and returned home to Cedar.

He married Gayle Knell in October 1964 in Las Vegas at the Little Church of the West. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple. Keith and Gayle were blessed with three wonderful children, and their spouses. Scott (Diana), Natalie (Dusty) and Kelly. They have four beautiful grandchildren, K. C. (Jourdain), Kage, Jake and Gracey. Keith loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart and they absolutely adored him.

Keith was a faithful life time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was as honest and hardworking as they come and took great pride in all he did. Over the years many of his friends came to him to repair their vehicles. As the children grew he repaired everything from go-carts, motorcycles to trucks and taught them all he knew. Keith and Gayle always had a home full of young people. The door was always open, and whoever was there was fed and treated as if they were their own. He made friends wherever he went and was admired by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Cedarview Ward Chapel, 1925 West 320 South, Cedar City. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City. And on Saturday the viewing will be held at the Cedarview Ward from 12:00-1:00 pm. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary with military honors. We would like to thank Alliance Hospice Specialist for the loving care they gave Keith, especially our Hannah who would drop everything and come.
