William (Billy) Isom

On March 8, 2010 at Kolob Regional Care Center in Cedar City, William (Billy) Isom returned to his Heavenly Father and the love of his life, Avonell Stanworth, who preceded him in death on September 14, 2000. He was born February 18, 1927 to William and Vaughn Pollock Isom in Castlegate, Utah. He grew up in Kanarraville and loved to go there until the day he died. He was proud that he served his country in both the United States Army and Navy during World War II.
He is survived by five children, Tena (Richard) Day of Paragonah, Utah, Debi (Jeremy) Hunter of Enoch, Utah, Chad (Angie) Isom of Cedar City, Scott (Claudia) Isom of Enoch, Utah and Maureen (Al) Grospin of St. George, Utah. Billy has 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. One sister LaDonna Roundy of Whittier, California and several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City. Viewings will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and again Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 9:30 - 10:30 am, also at Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
The family would like to express our appreciation to Kolob Regional Care Center for the many years of care they gave our father and also to Southern Utah Hospice, especially Bonnie, for all their kind and loving care.
