Russell Kennedy was born in Murray and raised in Delta, Utah. He graduated from Delta High School, where he was a two-time state debate champion, Eagle Scout and Mayor of the Delta Youth City Council. He is the recipient of the First Ladies Citizenship and Drug Prevention Award.
Russ holds a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Utah University in Political Science and History. While at SUU, Russ was twice elected a Senator from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and President Pro Tempore of the student association senate and was a former elected Governor of the Utah Intercollegiate Assembly, representing all of Utah's institutions of higher education. At SUU, Russ is the only student to have been twice awarded the institution's Male Contributor of the Year award in 1996 and 1998. He is a proud member of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity and is the 2010 Utah/Nevada Provice Balfour Award Recepient.
Russ is relativley new to the funeral business and has found it both fascinating and very gratifying. He relates that it has given him a new appreciation for life and enjoys the opportunity to help families in their time of need.
Russ is active in politics and volunteers in several organizations in the community. He enjoys being active, camping and spending time with his niece Adrian and nephew, Jesse. His disastrous performance in "church" ball derailed his dreams of playing in the NBA for the Utah Jazz.
